Havana, July 15 (RHC) -- Visiting U.S. filmmaker and producer Francis Ford Coppola gave a conference at the International Television and Movie School of San Antonio de los Baños (EICTV), located on the outskirts of the Cuban capital.

Together with his son Roman, also a movie director, and his grandsons Gia, Pascale Electra and Marcello Archimedes, Ford Coppola is visiting Havana until Sunday.

During his visit, Ford Coppola will meet with Roberto Smith, president of the Cuban Institute for Film Arts and Industry (ICAIC).

The renowned movie director and producer, who directed unforgettable films such as "The Godfather," "Apocalypse Now," "Dracula" and many others, showed great interest in chatting with Cuban young filmmakers and learning about their artistic aspirations.

Coppola will discuss in coming days, from his vast experience, some film productions by novice directors who are now in Cuba.

The producer and screenwriter, winner of five Oscars, has been described by critics as one of the essential names of world cinema.

Just one month ago, Ford Coppola received the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts in Spain.
