Havana, July 17 (RHC)-- The 26th U.S.-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan, made up of 50 caravanistas, arrives today in Havana following a tour of numerous cities in Canada, the United States and Mexico.

The caravanistas are bringing a humanitarian cargo which includes school materials, computers, walkers and wheelchairs for the elderly, medicines and X-ray equipment.

During their ten-day stay in the Caribbean nation, the Pastors for Peace delegation will visit the central province of Sancti Spíritus and eastern Santiago de Cuba.

Members of the group celebrated an ecumenical ceremony in front of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City on Thursday, where they expressed their rejection of Washington's economic blockade on Cuba and called for the closing of the U.S. naval base in Guantanamo.

The Pastors for Peace delegation also expressed their satisfaction for the return of the five Cuban heroes, who were unjustly imprisoned in U.S. jails, and their satisfaction for the process of restoration of relations between the U.S. and Cuba.
