Havana, August 4 (RHC)-- Cuban workers are building the alter in the Plaza de la Revolucion, from which Pope Francis will officiate Mass during his visit to Havana in September.

Next to the iron and wooden altar, workers are building a platform where the choir will sing during the celebration, and two platforms for the press and a section of four thousand seats for special guests.

The famous sculptural relief of Che, 36 meters high and inspired by the famous photo by Korda, is on a building to the left of the podium where the Pontiff will address those present.

Pope Francis will officiate two more Masses during his stay in our country, in the cities of Holguin and Santiago de Cuba, from where he will continue his journey to the United States.
