Experts in Havana to Discuss Epidemiological Situation of Dengue in the World

Havana, August 5 (RHC)-- Specialists from a number of countries will discuss the epidemiological situation of dengue worldwide during a meeting here in Havana from August 10th through the 21st.

During the upcoming 14th International Course on Dengue, delegates will discuss topics related to the clinical management of patients, advances in research of the disease and the influence of climate change as well as the implementation of new tools to control the vector.

The course will also feature an international initiative led by the World Health Organization and results of the implementation of the Integrated Management Strategy developed by the Pan American Health Organization with countries of the region.

Parallel to the meeting, there will be a three-day course on Mathematical Modeling for prediction of dengue and a workshop on the treatment of this pathology, as well as expert meetings to discuss surveillance and response to outbreaks of the infection.
