Global Economic Meeting Slated for October in Havana

Havana, August 27 (RHC)-- The Center for Research on the World Economy (CIEM) has called for the seventh edition of an international meeting to be held in Havana on October 29th and 30th.

Lidia Llizo Ferro, member of the organizing committee, told reporters in the Cuban capital that taking into account the importance of the economic situation in Latin America and the Caribbean in recent years, the upcoming academic meeting will discuss the challenges and opportunities of the region in the context of the current global crisis.

Llizo Ferro said the seventh event is an opportunity not only to professionals and social science graduates of the university, but for all students in related careers. She noted that the event will be dedicated to young people under the age of 35 to debate global economic issues.
