Cuba Lives Crucial Moment as it Continues to Build Socialism

Quito, September 30 (RHC)-- The Cuban Revolution is living a crucial moment following its determination to continue building Socialism, said the chief of the Cuban Communist Party International Relations Department, Jose Ramon Balaquer in Ecuador.

“Everything that we are doing is coherent to the strategic goal of development prosperous and sustainable socialism in Cuba,” said Balaguer while delivering a key-note lecture at Quito's International Center of Higher Studies of Communication for Latin America, during the 2nd Latin American and Progressive Forum.

Balaguer said that as part of the economic and social update underway in Cuba, efforts focus on boosting the potential that can be deployed in a country with scarce natural resources, and he exemplified with the development of scientific, cultural and educational development reached thanks to the Revolution. He also cited the efficient use of economic resources.

The Communist Party official recalled that the 7th Congress of the political organization will take place next year, in which they will evaluate what has thus far been implemented and they will draw up a development strategy up to 2030. He said they will also approve the theoretical conceptualization of Cuban socialism.
