Havana, November 29 (RHC).-- The Cuban National Association for the Blind has awarded its Crystal Cane distinction to the President of Cuba, Raul Castro, for his support to the full respect and rehabilitation of the blind, among all other persons with discapacities in the Island.
The award was accepted by Vice President Salvador Valdés, presented at the closing ceremony of the annual review of activities by the National Association for the Blind.
A delegation from the Latin American Union of the Blind presented their Cuban hosts with the Enrique Elizalde Distinction, noting that the work in Cuba in support of the blind has become a reference point in all of Latin America.
