Villa Clara, October 7 (RHC)-- Official activities began Wednesday in Villa Clara province to pay homage to Argentinean-Cuban legendary Guerrilla Commander Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, on the 48th anniversary of his murder in Bolivia.

University students and residents in general embarked on the already traditional march 'Following the Heroic Guerrilla Route,' from the Marta Abreu University to the Capiro mountain, where revolutionaries under the command of Che Guevara waged an historic battle against the Batista regime back in December 1958.

Organizers of the march said that the main activity marking Che's death anniversary will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at the Ernesto Che Guevara School Complex, in which hundreds of first grade students will receive the neckerchief that identifies them as members of the José Martí Pioneers' Organization. Similar ceremonies will be held at all primary schools across Cuba.
