Cuban Foreign Minister Speaks at Bolivia's Climate Change Summit

Cochabamba, October 13 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez spoke at the closing session of the 2nd World Summit of the Peoples on Climate Change in Bolivia, where he called for the defense of Mother Earth.

In his statement, Rodriguez said that industrialized nations want to impose unsustainable consumption models on South countries as they need a renovation with a new world economic order.

During the closing session of the summit, held in the Cochabamba district of Tiquipaya, the Cuban foreign minister announced that at the upcoming UN Climate Conference to take place in Paris, South countries will not accept any agreement that disregards the duties to be met by the developed countries and they will demand that those nations and transnational companies should pay the ecologic and the foreign debts.

Bruno Rodriguez also expressed his government´s support of the process of change in Bolivia and its maritime claim at the International Court of Justice.
