Lafayette, October 26 (RHC)-- Purdue's College of Agriculture in the U.S. state of Indiana has added Cuba to its study abroad program and will coordinate a trip here in March next year.

According to Indiana local media, professors at the Perdue College are traveling to Cuba this week to organize the program, which will allow advisors to pave the way for the visit of the students.

Professor Gerald Shively said “the trip to Cuba will begin to lay the foundation for Purdue research,” as quoted by the university's newspaper.

The professor said that after the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Washington and Havana, they considered the event a potentially important change with a lot of opportunities for all of the missions of the college, particularly in the areas of research.

Shively and two other professors will spend a week in Cuba to prepare the trip for March 2016.
