UNESCO's Director General Meets with Cuba's Higher Education Minister

París, October 31 (RHC)-- The Director General of the United Nations educational, scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Irina Bokova, met with Cuban Higher Education Minister Rodolfo Alarcón.

During the exchange, the two sides discussed the main issues on UNESCO's agenda in the field of education and also reiterated their commitment to continue strengthening cooperation relations.

The two sides also spoke about ongoing preparations in Cuba for the 10th edition of the International Educational Congress 'University 2016', set for February in Havana with the theme: 'Innovative University and Sustainable Human Development.'

The Cuban higher education minister is in Paris, heading the Cuban delegation to the 38th Session of UNESCO's General Conference, set for November 3rd through the 18th. The meeting is in the context of celebrations on the organization's 70th anniversary.
