Havana To Host Congress of Esperanto Association of Cuba

Havana, November 11 (RHC)-- More than 100 Cuban and foreign delegates will gather in Havana for the 6th Congress of the Esperanto Association of Cuba, set for November 18th through the 22nd.

The organizing committee announced that delegates will debate the role of languages in the defense and promotion of culture and national identity.

Esperanto is considered a modern language. It is among the top 100 most widely spoken languages out of the nearly 7,000 in the world today.

The Esperanto Association of Cuba is a member of the Cuban Association of the United Nations and of the World Esperanto Association. In its capacity as advisory member of UNESCO, the Esperanto Association of Cuba works in the promotion of cultural diversity and effective communication.
