Río de Janeiro, November 25 (RHC)-- Councilors of the Brazilian city of Río de Janeiro have created a Parliamentary Front of Solidarity with Cuba, which they say will focus specifically on efforts to achieve the lifting of Washington's over 50 year-long blockade policy towards Cuba.

The creation of the solidarity with Cuba front also seeks to strengthen bilateral cooperation and trade links with Cuba and with the rest of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The proposal to set up the solidarity group was submitted by the cabinet of city councilor Leonel Brizola. The move found the support of 32 other members of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro.
