Artemisa, November 26 (RHC)-- The 5th International Forum on Agroecology, Sustainable Agriculture and Cooperation began sessions Thursday in the western province of Artemisa.

Participants include representatives from farmers associations and farming institutions from 15 countries, including Spain, El Salvador, the United States, Nicaragua, Brazil, Indonesia, Niger, Mexico, Belgium and the host country, Cuba.

Delegates, gathered in five work commissions, are debating over 60 papers on issues like agricultural cooperatives in Cuba, Latin America and around the world, main challenges to sustainable agricultural development and food security.
