Tehran, November 30 (RHC)-- Representatives from Cuba and Iran expressed both governments' determination to strengthen political and diplomatic cooperation to confront the slanders and misinformation campaigns the two countries are subjected to by the United States and its Western allies, particularly regarding the migration issue.

The Director General for Consular Affairs at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ali Chegeni received Cuban Ambassador to Iran Vladimir González. During the exchange, the two officials discussed specific work issues.

They termed as excellent the current state of bilateral ties between Tehran and Havana and committed to work towards strengthening ties, particularly in the diplomatic and consular areas.

Before assuming as Director General for Consular Affairs at the Foreign Ministry, Dr. Chegeni served as Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Cuba from 2011 to 2014, where he developed an outstanding work.
