Havana, December 12 (RHC)-- Mexican communications expert Enrique Sánchez said in Havana that neo-liberal policies are the root cause of huge social and economic disparities in today's world.

Addressing Friday's closing session of the 8th Meeting of Information Technology and Communications Researchers and Experts, the Mexican delegate issued a call on all Latin American and Caribbean governments and peoples to join forces in the common fight against neo-liberal ideology.

During the event, the Faculties of Communications and Psychology of the University of Havana presented a joint program called Escaramujo.

Program coordinator, Cuban expert Rodolfo Romero, explained that the aim of the initiative is to contribute, through communications and education strategies, to the psycho-social development of Cuban children and adolescents. Romero added that the program, first implemented five years ago, targets children and youth in vulnerable situations or who are being raised by dysfunctional families.
