London, December 26 (RHC-PL), -- The British public relived, on Christmas Day, Carlos Acosta's farewell performance from the Royal Ballet through the TV broadcast of Carmen, choreographed by Acosta.

On 12 November, the talented dancer bid farewell to the Royal Opera House, headquarters of the British company with whom he worked for almost 20 years.

BBC television broadcast the opera based on the story of the sensual Carmen, seduced by the soldier Don José, and who finally betrays him in the arms of the bullfighter Escamillo.

Acosta, 42, retired from classical ballet, but continuing as a dancer and choreographer in contemporary works, has the dream of founding his own company in Cuba.
