Copa Airlines Launches New Route to Cuban Destinations

Havana, January 30 (RHC)-- Copa Airlines will start direct flights to eastern Holguin province by mid-2016, from the hub in Panama City.

In a news release, the airline company said that with Holguin, Copa will have three Cuban destinations, and that the eastern city offers important attractions to tourists.

The flights would start on June 21st according to the news release. "We are happy to announce that Holguin will be our third destination in Cuba, which will expand our connection between that country and the rest of the continent and thus offer more opportunities to the development of tourism and trade," said Pedro Heilbron, Copa's executive president.

After 20 years operating in Cuba, Copa Airlines increased to seven its daily flights to Havana and since 2014 the company open four weekly flights to central Santa Clara city.

According to schedule, the Copa CM400 flight will begin with two weekly flights to Holguin, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, departing Tocumen airport in Panama and arriving at the Frank Pais air terminal in the eastern Cuban city.

Passengers departing Holguin will connect through the Americas Hub in Panama with other destinations, such as Lima, Sao Paulo, Bogota, Medellin, Mexico City, Santo Domingo, Quito, Santiago de Chile, among other cities.
