Havana, Mar 17 (RHC) Cuban Prima Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso, hopes the visit to Cuba by US President Barack Obama, will help bring down Washington's over 50-year long economic, commercial and financial blockade.

The founder of Cuba's National Ballet also congratulated the US President for his courage to travel to Havana, adding that from this visit it is possible for both countries to build new relations, on the basis of respect for the dignity and sovereignty of the Cuban people.

Alicia Alonso  highlighted the significance of normalizing relations between Cuba and the US, as building cultural bridges through exchanges in artistic creation.
