Washington, May 23— In what will be the first official mission of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in nearly four decades, a delegation from that well-known U.S. organization is scheduled to visit Cuba this week.

The mission will be headed by U.S. Conference of Mayors President Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, of Baltimore, and will include top officers and executives. The group will stay in Cuba from May 25 to 29. On its agenda are meetings with government officials and community leaders, as well as tours of political, economic, and cultural sites. The U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Cuba visit is being arranged in partnership with the Washington-based Center for Democracy in the Americas.
