President Raúl Castro Sends Congratulatory Message to Combatants of Cuba's Western Army

Havana, June 15 (RHC)-  Cuban President Raúl Castro sent a congratulatory message to the combatants of Cuba's Western Army on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the command.

In his message, dated June 14th, President Raúl said that the Western Army was created in the face of the urgent need to protect that part of the country, particularly the capital, Havana, against the constant aggression by Cuba's enemies.

He further said: “I express my congratulations for the results achieved in the defense of our homeland and people, the internationalist missions fulfilled by Cuban combatants and for their role in preserving human life and the country's economy in the face of natural disasters.”
