US Small Business Administration Chief Visits Cuba

Havana, June 20 (RHC)-- The head of the US Small Business Administration (SBA) Maria Contreras-Sweet began a working visit to Cuba Monday, June 20th.

According to the Cuban Foreign Ministry, during her stay, Contreras-Sweet will visit the Mariel Special Development Zone and will meet with Foreign Trade and Investment minister Rodrigo Malmierca, as well as with officials from Cuba's Domestic Trade and Social Security ministries.

The US official first visited Cuba last April, as part of the accompanying delegation of President Barack Obama.

As head of the US Small Business Administration, Contreras-sweet is a member of Obama´s cabinet. The U.S. entity offers support to some 28 million U.S. small businesses, accounting for nearly half of the labor force in the private sector.
