Cuba will be on the Agenda of Cartagena Summit

Bogota, March 8 (RHC)—Colombia´s foreign minister Maria Angela Holguin said on Thursday in Bogotá that Cuba will be on the agenda of the upcoming Summit of the Americas, to be held next April in Cartagena, upon the request of other Latin American countries.

Israel Asks Washington for Weapons to Attack Iran

Havana, March 8 (RHC)--Although more than half of the Israeli population is against a military attack by Tel Aviv against Iran, as revealed by a survey conducted by the Haaretz daily on Thursday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Washington to sell his government the necessary weapons to  launch a strike against the Persian nation, the Israeli newspaper reported.

Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei Applauds U.S. President's Statement Against Military Action

Tehran, March 8 (RHC)-- Iran’s state TV reports that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has praised a recent statement by the U.S. president saying he saw a “window of opportunity” to use diplomacy to resolve the nuclear dispute.  Barack Obama on Tuesday said diplomacy can still resolve the situation and accused his Republican critics of “beating the drums of war.”

Seventeen Killed in Iraq Bomb Attacks

Baghdad, March 8 (RHC)-- At least 17 people have been killed and 24 wounded in three separate attacks in Iraq.  Fourteen were reportedly killed in a twin bombing in the northern town of Tal Afar, which is hosting an Arab League summit later this month.
