Madrid, April 20 (RHC)-- The number of registered job seekers in Spain hit a new high in March, adding to its headaches as it attempts to reduce the public deficit with a tough 2012 budget. The number of workers registered as without work climbed by 0.82 per cent from the previous month to reach 4.75 million, the highest figure since the current statistical series began in 1996, according to the Labor Ministry.

Washington, April 19 (RHC)-- Top U.S. government and military officials have been forced to apologize to Afghanistan for conduct unbecoming of U.S. soldiers. U.S. President Barack Obama says American soldiers shown in photos apparently abusing Afghan corpses in 2010 should be held accountable. White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters in Washington that "the conduct depicted in those photos is reprehensible." Carney also expressed disappointment that the images were printed.
