UNESCO Official to Attend Havana Meeting on Management of Historical Centers

Havana, May 14 (RHC) -- José Prado Laballós, a founding member of the Prensa Latina News Agency, passed away on Sunday in Havana at the age of 88.  Prado Laballós began his career as reporter for Radio Cadena Habana and as editor of the news program.

Mothers’ Day in Cuba, Many Reasons to be Proud of

Havana, May 13 (RHC)—Mothers´ Day in Cuba offers the fair pretext for parties and family gathering in a country where women enjoy the best maternity conditions. Every second Sunday in the month of May, the flowers, gifts and family meals are part of celebrations, which date back to 1920, when a group of Cuban intellectuals marked the date for the first time in the Havana locality of Santiago de Las Vegas.
