First Website on National Defense Released in Cuba
Havana, March 12 (RHC-PL) The first website on Cuban national defense will be released on Tuesday. It is dedicated to providing specialized information and updates on the unpublished work of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) of the country.
By accessing website at www.cubadefensa.cu, internet users can also find out about the design and defensive military-political history of the Caribbean nation.
Until now, anyone interested in learning about the FAR or Cuban defense, Cuban or foreign, had no place to find that information, according to Colonel Jorge Galván, director of the publishing house Olive Green.
As reported in the newspaper Juventud Rebelde, Galvan said it was essential to develop a site to show the concepts of struggle and preparation, not only of the FAR, but also the people. It also serves to deny the international media the attempt to discredit the Cuban image to the world.
The first proposal of the page includes the fundamentals of military doctrine of the island, an image gallery, a glossary of terms, events, advertising graphics, literature on the subject, and different issues of the magazine Verde Olivo.
The site was designed for unrestricted access from anywhere in the country and the world, regardless of the technological features. The publication, developed by the University of Computer Science, was conceived on the basis of free software, which allows greater feasibility in terms of performance, agility and information management.
