Cuban State Council introduces changes to govt. positions
Havana, March 22, (RHC), -- The State Council of Cuba has agreed to appoint Jose Ramon Fernandez as presidential adviser, according to an official statement.
The official statement informs that Ramon Fernandez had served as Vice President of the Council of Ministers, a post that will be assumed by former Higher Education Minister, Miguel Díaz Canel.
Canel´s First Deputy Minister, Rodolfo Alarcón Ortiz will be then promoted to Head of the Higher Education Ministry, it said.
The communiqué also says that Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, Jose Miyar, will be appointed head of the Higher Business Management Organization, a mechanism created to supervise the pharmaceutical sector in the country.
Elba Rosa Perez Montoya, who since 2006 heads the Science Department of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Cuba, will take responsibility of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
