10th Ibero-American Meeting on Gender and Communications Underway
Havana, May 23 (RHC) -- The 10th Ibero-American Meeting on Gender and Communications opened its doors on Wednesday at Havana’s Hotel Nacional. It is being attended by nearly one hundred delegates from Latin American and European countries.
Professionals from the fields of teaching, research and communications will discuss gender violence, access to employment, the construction of masculinity, sex and reproductive rights, and good practices for changes towards equity, among other issues.
Isabel Moya, president of the Scientific Committee, pointed out that delegates will work in commissions and plenary sessions, under the premise “Media Agenda and Gender: the paradoxes of hegemony.”
Sponsored by the Association of Cuban Journalists, the Federation of Cuban Women and the Cuban Association of Social Communicators, the meeting, which will run until Friday, will bring together delegations from Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile among many more.
