Cuban President Raul Castro Congratulates President-Elect of Serbia
Havana, May 23 (RHC) -- Cuban President Raul Castro has sent a congratulatory message to the newly-elected head of state of Serbia, Tomislav Nikolic.
According to a statement from Cuba’s Foreign Ministry, the Cuban president affirmed that Havana hopes to further strengthen and expand the friendly ties between both countries.
Nikolic won during the second round of elections on Sunday with 49.57 percent of the votes, according to data from the Serbian Electoral Commission.
Sixty-year-old Tomislav Nikolic is president of the Progressive Party of Serbia, and served as leader of the parliamentary group of friendship with Cuba.
