Celebrations to Be Held for 165th Anniversary of Arrival of Chinese to Cuba
Havana, May 31 (RHC) The 11th edition of the China Culture Festival will be held June 11 and 12to mark the 165th anniversary of the arrival to the Island of the first settlers from China.
Jiajia Gong, the Cultural Counselor of the Chinese embassy in Havana, said that the festival will include the best of art and Chinese traditions. He said that those who attend the up-coming trade fair at Expocuba in Havana, will enjoy paintings, music and martial arts. The diplomat thanked the Cuban Government and the Ministry of Culture for their cooperation in the realization of the festival. Under the program, the Festival will feature art exhibits, crafts, sculpture, traditions, books and Chinese calligraphy.
The House of Chinese Arts and Traditions is also a sponsor of the festival, and other actions include the Day of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the meeting with the community of Chinese descendants.
