Cuban VP Lazo urges youth to defend the Revolution and its culture
Havana, June 4, (RHC), -- Esteban Lazo, member of the politburo of the Communist Party of Cuba, urged the country’s youth to employ culture as a weapon to defend the work of the Revolution.
Lazo made the remarks on Sunday at the V Pelnum of the National Committee of the Young Communists League (UJC), which focused on analyzing the role of the Cuban youth in the cultural work of the Revolution.
According to Granma newspaper, the also Vice President of the Council of State said that Revolution and youth cannot be conceived apart, nor can Revolution and culture.
He emphasized that the toughest war waged against Cuba is that of ideas, and that the tactic of ideological subversion chosen by the enemy to destroy the Revolution demands every patriot, every militant and cadre to take time to think.
Not only our achievements of the last half century, but this world plagued with crisis, wars and barbarism, provide more than enough arguments to defend the Revolution, to preserve the unity of the people and move forward, he said.
