Cuba marks World Environment Day
Havana, June 5, (RHC), -- Cuba is celebrating on Tuesday the World Environment Day with broad agenda of activities, ranging from academic events at universities to cleaning and reforestation works.
This significant date also marks the beginning of the new national campaign dubbed “Sustainable Energy for All”, which will run until June 22.
Also, a workshop on air pollution will be held June 5 to 6 in Havana, sponsored by several Cuban environmental and meteorology-linked organizations.
Greenhouse emissions, wind energy, extreme weather, and the evolution of tropical hurricanes in the North Atlantic top the agenda of the event.
World Environment Day (WED) is celebrated every year on 5th June to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action.
