Ecuador and Cuba Enjoy Solid Relations of Friendship and Solidarity
Havana, August 10 (RHC)-- Ecuadorian ambassador to Havana, Edgar Anibal Ponce, ratified the solid relations of friendship and solidarity between Cuba and his country during a meeting at a sugar mill named after the South American nation, in central Cuba, to mark the First Cry of Independence in Latin America, on August 10, 1809 in Quito.
During the meeting with sugar workers and local government officials, Ponce said it was an honor to mark the historic date at Cuba’s second largest sugar factory.
Friendship relations between Cuba and Ecuador strengthen each passing day, said the ambassador, who recalled the island’s assistance to Ecuador in training doctors and other professionals.
The Ecuadorian diplomat toured the sugar factory and spoke with workers currently involved in the repair stage of the facility. He donated history books to the local museum and he was presented with texts and gifts, including a video about the history of the sugar factory.
