Foreign Students in Cuba State Support of the Revolution
Havana, Aug 17 (RHC) Over one hundred youth from 36 nations taking
courses in Cuba expressed their commitment to support the Cuban
Revolution in the face of current misinformation campaigns and to back the struggle for the release of the five Cuban anti-terrorist fighters held in the U.S. since 1998.
The students, who make up the 4th Solidarity Brigade, were received on Thursday at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in the western province of Artemisa, where they are contributing to local economic efforts during their holiday season, the Cuban news agency reported.
The Young Communist League’s foreign relations official Sarahis
Figueras thanked the youth for their support and said it was an honor to work together with them.
Bolivian Alexa Flores, a medical student, told reporters that she
considered it an honor having been able to study on the island, and she thanked the Cuban government for granting scholarships to so many foreign youth.
The brigade is made up of students from Angola, Ghana, Nicaragua,
Bolivia, China, Vietnam and other nations.
