New School Year Opens in Cuba September 3rd
Havana, August 27 (RHC)-- Cuban Education Minister Ena Elsa Velazquez met with local authorities in the central province of Sancti Spiritus to check on preparations for the new school year, which opens next Monday, September 3rd.
The minister called on professors, methodologists and authorities to have all schools ready for the new school year, according to a story published in this morning’s edition of Granma newspaper.
The Cuban government official noted that the education sector in the province of Sancti Spiritus shows better logistical conditions than in previous years, although there is a need for 597 teachers.
The minister pointed out that all education centers must be ready for the new school year, in terms of teaching materials and the organization of all areas.
