Cuba Will Seek Second Successful Volleyball Olympic Qualification
The Cuban men’s volleyball team will seek today its second success at the Olympic qualifiers of the North, Central America and the Caribbean, in Long Beach, California, the United States, when facing the Dominican Republic.
After winning Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-20, 25-18 and 25-18) on Monday, Cubans come again as favorites to beat the Dominicans, who lost 0-3 (21-25, 13-25 and 15 -25).
Today’s calendar also includes Canada-Puerto Rico, also in group B, and Mexico-Trinidad and Tobago and the United States vs. Costa Rica.
The Americans, the 2008 Beijing Olympic champions, are favorites to compete against the Cubans for the title and ticket this competition grants for London Olympics.
