News US-Cuba Baseball Meet Closed with Three Victories for CubaTwo for U.S.A

The United States beat Cuba 5 to 4 in the last game of the US-Cuba baseball meet, which concluded in Havana with Cuba wining 3 out of the 5 games scheduled.
US pitcher Jonathan Crawford won the last game against his counterpart Antonio Romero, at Havana’s “Latinoamericano” Stadium, on Monday night.
Despite the defeat in the last game, Cuban manager Victor Mesa was satisfied with the series, since he said that it was very useful and that the US team played high quality baseball.
Mesa announced that the US team will be a hard nut to crack in the upcoming baseball championship scheduled to take place July 13-22 in The Netherlands.
The sports event marked the resumption of traditional US-Cuba bilateral baseball meets highly expected by Cuban baseball fans. The event was opened in the late 1970s and was stalled in 1996.
According to experts, the series was an important stage in the training of the Cuban team for the 3rd World Baseball Classic, to take place in March 2013.
