Cuba: Olympic Jury Decision on Cuban Boxer is Unjust

Cuba considered as unjust the ruling by the jury of the boxing Olympic match to uphold its pervious decision that eliminated boxer Jose Angel Larduet.

Cuba handed over its protest and criticized the tolerance of official Rene Just, from Slovakia in relation to the constant grabbing and swiping during the fight for the bronze by Italian Clemente Russo, who was declared winner 12-10 against the Cuban.

The president of the Cuban Boxing Federation Alberto Puig reiterated the island’s stance and said that the analysis carried out by the jury should have given the victory to the Cuban boxer, PL news agency reported from London.

According to a message received by the Cuban directive, the jury admitted the mistakes committed by the referee, but the final vote on the issue declared Russo the winner 37-32.
