Cuban Pole-Vaulter Will Compete in Diamond League
Cuban pole-vaulter Yarisley Silva, London 2012 Olympic silver medalist, will compete on Friday in the Diamond League in Stockholm, Sweden.
After her outstanding performance in the British capital, the young athlete will attempt to break her own personal record of 4.75 meters with which she won silver in London, surpassed by the U.S.world holder Jennifer Suhr and above bronze medalist, former world record holder Russian Yelena Isimbayeva.
Silva will also face Brazil's Fabiana Murer, World Champion outdoors in Daegu 2011 and indoors in Doha 2010.
The other Cuban to compete in Sweden will be the discuss thrower Yarelis Barrios, 2008 Beijing Olympic silver medalist and world multi-medallist.
