Club Hemingway Membership Grows in Its 20th Year
Commodore José Miguel Diaz Escrich of the Hemingway International Yacht Club of Cuba said the club has reached 2,165 members from 60 countries, as it approaches its 20th anniversary. He expressed his satisfaction both for the development of an activities program for that date, and for the acceptance of the club's performance during these two decades.
As a further boost to the growing tourist industry in Cuba, managers of recreational boating reiterated the relevance of the 20 years of the Hemingway club, which is the main nautical club in the country. The celebration program included yacht races off the Havana coast, from the Almendares River to the Morro Castle, on April 27. Diaz added he is looking forward to the presence of a broad representation of the Spanish sailing community whose delegates will participate in the actual 20-year anniversary celebration of the Club on May 21st.
