Japan’s Stock Market Falls Seven Percent

Tokyo, May 23 (RHC)-- Japan's stock market fell by about 7% on Thursday -- the steepest decline since the tsunami and subsequent nuclear disaster of March 2011.  According to reports from Tokyo, the market is still up by more than 30% since the start of the year -- so while today's sudden drop raised eyebrows, many say they aren't too worried, yet. 

 

Stockholm Riots Continue; Protesters Charge Police with Racism

Stockholm, May 23 (RHC)-- A fourth night of unprecedented riots in Stockholm, the Swedish capital, has seen unrest spread, with a restaurant and at least 40 cars set on fire.  According to police reports, three officers were injured as rioters threw stones and directed laser pointers at emergency services.
