Hugo Chavez Thanks Religious Events in Venezuela for His Recovery
Caracas, April 6 (RHC) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez thanked the religious ceremonies held in the country for his recovery and highlighted the importance of life regardless of difficult circumstances.
Chavez attended a Thanksgiving Mass for his health in Barinas, his hometown, where he traveled to last Wednesday after completing a second round of radiotherapy in Cuba.
During the Eucharist celebrated as part of Easter festivities, the Venezuelan leader apologized for comments he has made that could have damaged the dogmas of the Roman and apostolic church.
Also present at the Mass were President Chavez’s parents, children, siblings and other family members, in addition to representatives of the government and people of Barinas.
