Foreign Ministers Did Not Sign Final Declaration of Summit of the Americas
Havana, April 14 (RHC)--The Final Declaration of the 6th Summit of the Americas, currently underway in
Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, was not penned by the foreign ministers from the hemisphere due to lack of consensus on the issue of Cuba, said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro, cited by international media.
The countries of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of Our America -ALBA- have said that its member nations as well as other Latin American countries won't attend the so called Summits of the Americas anymore as long as the US exclusion of Cuba is in effect, said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro.
The top Venezuelan diplomat added that Caracas will not attend any other such summit without Cuba and that, besides being criminal, the US siege and persecution of the island is obsolete.
