Iran Confirms it Has Military Capacity to Face Any External Aggression
Tehran, April 17 (RHC) Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and military leaders or Iran affirmed that their national army has an elevated combative arsenal available, capable of responding to any external aggression.
When speaking at a ceremony that took place in Tehran for the National Army Day, Ahmadinejad emphasized the defensive concept of the armed forces, but insisted that they would act with strength in the case of threats to their interests or dignity of the Iranian people. The Iranian President said that Iran is moving toward successful levels of science and technology, and added that in order to reach these peaceful goals, sustained security guaranteed by the armed forces is necessary.
Ahmadinejad, who was accompanied by various military commanders, indicated that the Islamic Republic has always been among the most peaceful nations of the world, but warned that his enemies would receive a strong response if they dare to attack. During the military march to the mausoleum of Imán Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Iranian Head of State explained that this region of the Persian Gulf is highly sensible and called for the collective forces of all countries.
