Ecuador Hosts Meeting of Latin American Parliamentary Commissions
Quito, May 9 (PL-RHC) -- Several permanent commissions of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino), including Agriculture, Cattle Breeding and Fishing, Labor Affairs, Social Prevention and Legal Affairs, Political, Municipal and Integration Affairs, will meet in Cuenca, Ecuador, on May 17th and 18th.
Local news sources report that discussions will revolve around a Framework Law on the Right to Nourishment, local governments, a National System to assist children from birth to 5 years-of-age, and assistance to disabled people and senior citizens to create policies aimed at improving their living conditions.
Sessions will conclude on Friday, May 18th, with the reading and approval of the final documents.
Since its foundation in 1964, the mission of the legislative body has been promoting and harmonizing integration among its 23 member countries.
