Day of Protests against Colombia Free Trade Agreement with the United States
Bogotá, May 15 (RHC) -- The National Student Front of Colombia is taking part along with labor unions and social movements in a day of protest against the Free Trade Agreement with the United States, which takes effect on Tuesday.
Speaking with reporters in Bogota, the spokesman of the organization, Jairo Rivera, said that this agreement will allow poor quality items to enter into the South American nation. For its part, the Confederation of Colombian Workers also denounced the treaty with Washington that affects workers in the industrial and agricultural sectors, because they are not on equal terms with their counterparts in the United States.
