US drones kill 10 in Northwest Pakistan
Islamabad, May 24, (RHC), -- Ten people were killed in the latest illegal drone attack in Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region of North Waziristan.
According to local media, the victims, mostly civilians, were killed after the drones fired two missiles on a mosque in Hassokhel town, 25 kilometers (16 miles) east of the town of Miranshah early Thursday.
The attack occurred when people were leaving the mosque after their morning prayers, witnesses said, adding that rescue work was delayed as five U.S. drones were seen hovering over the site of the attack
Washington claims its airstrikes target militants. But, on the ground, civilians have been the main victims.
The killing of Pakistani civilians, including women and children, in the US drone strikes have strained relations between the two allies, prompting Pakistani officials to send warnings to the US administration over the assaults. /PRESSTV
