Venezuela to Represent Latin American Parliament at Rio + 20 Conference
Caracas, May 24 (RHC) -- Rodrigo Cabezas, president of the Latin American parliament in Venezuela, has announced that his country will represent this entity regarding environmental preservation at the up-coming Rio + 20 conference.
During an ordinary session of the Latin American parliament, Cabezas pointed out that Ana Elisa Osorio, the former minister of the Environment in Venezuela, will present proposals to the parliamentarians up until the conference, to take place between June 17th and 23rd in Rio de Janeiro.
Cabezas added that Osorio will defend concepts that guide the Venezuelan people and Latin America in general related to sustainable development, necessary balances between society and ecology, and nature-related laws that should be incorporated into the legislation of various nations.
