Venezuelan President Announces Initiation of Program against Social Insecurity
Caracas, June 20 (RHC) -- President Hugo Chavez announced the launch of the Mission Full Life for Venezuela on Wednesday, which is aimed at combating crime and ensuring public safety.
In an interview with Mario Silva, host of the La Hojilla TV program, which was broadcast from the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Chavez said that the implementation of this project embraces the entire country; adding that the services of the Bolivarian National Police will be expanded to seven states, including Zulia, Lara, Táchira and Miranda.
In addition, the Venezuelan leader announced the establishment of local courts and attorney’s offices on the municipal level, beginning with places with the highest crime rate.
President Chavez also referred to the possibility of violent actions by the opposition, considering their almost certain defeat in the upcoming October presidential elections; and he urged members of his Cabinet to work hard to also win the forthcoming regional and municipal elections.
