The HISPASAT 1D satelite is located
at the 30º West orbital window.
It has 28 new transponders in the Ku
band of the Hispasat satellite system.
The
main function of this satellite is to
secure the continuity of non military
broadcasts (on the Ku band) to current
customers of the 1A and 1B satellites
in the 30º West position, for they
will be out of service by 2003.
HISPASAT
1D has the increased capacity of 6 transponders
with connectivity for the Americas and
Europe for a foreseen increased demand
of the 30º West orbital position.
We
are beaming towards the Near East the
area covered by the 1D satellite, and
then with a double jump, we have access
to the satellites in Asia, to service
our clients in North America and Europe
(and vice versa) for a virtual global
connectivity.
All
Cuban radio stations including Radio
Havana Cuba , and TV channels broadcast
on the 11.884 Ghz KU band.
